Right now I have a few issues with it. One, what if it is a situation like the Bay Area where there are two football teams. If I were to live in Pleasanton the closest team would be the Raiders in Oakland, but I would rather watch PeeWee football for the rest of my life than be a Raiders fan. However, the 49ers are only a few miles away so I would easily be able to attend their games and root for the team. Am I not a true fan just because there is another detestable team a little too close to me.<br /><br />Also, does your rule mean that as long as the Raiders are in Oakland I cannot be a true 49ers fan, but as soon as they move back to LA I can be?<br /><br />Finally, what if I simply choose to root for a team that is across the country. How am I not a true fan simply because they play a few thousand miles away. What if I spend every dollar of disposable income I have to fly to their stadium and I manage to attend every game every season. Would such devotion not earn me the right to be called a True Fan?<br /><br />But the rest of the criteria look pretty good.
